Service Delivery Model

At St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery Centre, we utilize a multi-modal therapeutic approach delivered by an interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing support throughout each person’s recovery journey.

Our service delivery model is:

  • Trauma-informed, recognizing the widespread impact of trauma and integrating this understanding into all aspects of care.

  • Grounded in 12-Step philosophy, supporting personal accountability, spiritual growth, and meaningful peer connection.

  • Culturally responsive, honouring the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and values of every individual.

  • Respectful of Indigenous teachings, incorporating cultural awareness and practices that support healing, connection, and reconciliation.

This integrated approach supports holistic recovery by addressing not only substance use concerns, but also overall physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Scope of Service

St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery Centre provides a structured, residential treatment experience designed to support individuals on their path toward lasting recovery.

Services include:

  • On-site medical detoxification, including four dedicated medical detox beds available to individuals who have been accepted into the program.

  • Residential addiction treatment, providing a safe and supportive environment where participants participate in individualized and group-based therapeutic programming.

  • Comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment planning tailored to each person’s needs, strengths, and recovery goals.

  • Family Program, recognizing that addiction affects the entire family. Family members have the opportunity to participate in a six-week online support program, held weekly on Mondays for 30 minutes, offering education, connection, and tools to support their loved one’s recovery.

Admission to the Addiction Recovery Centre is through an application and assessment process. The facility is not open to the public for walk-in services, ensuring that each individual receives the appropriate level of care and support upon admission.

Holistic Health & Wellness

Recovery involves healing the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to clinical and therapeutic programming, St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery Centre offers a variety of holistic wellness opportunities designed to support personal growth, connection, and overall well-being.

Holistic programming may include:

  • Yoga and mindfulness practices to promote physical and emotional wellness.

  • Reiki sessions focused on relaxation, stress reduction, and personal balance.

  • Land-based teachings that foster connection with nature, culture, and traditional ways of knowing.

  • Equine (horse-assisted) therapy, encouraging trust, confidence, emotional awareness, and healing.

  • Indigenous storytelling, ceremonies, teachings, and one-on-one cultural support, providing opportunities for reflection, connection, and meaningful personal growth.

These experiences complement the centre’s clinical approach and recognize that recovery is a deeply personal journey requiring care for the whole person.

Clinical and Continuing Care

At St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery Centre, we recognize addiction as a primary, chronic condition that requires ongoing support beyond residential treatment. Our progressive, evidence-based, and trauma-informed model ensures individuals have access to continued recovery resources as they transition back into their communities.

Following completion of the residential program, clients are encouraged to remain connected through our continuing care services, sober living program, and active alumni network.

Continuing care opportunities include:

  • Educational lectures and recovery-focused workshops to strengthen knowledge and coping strategies.
  • Continuing care classes and accountability groups that provide ongoing encouragement and personal responsibility.
  • Peer fellowship and alumni connections that foster a sense of belonging and shared experience.
  • 12-Step meetings that encourage continued growth, reflection, and recovery.
  • Community events and activities that support healthy relationships, social connection, and long-term wellness.

By maintaining connection beyond treatment, individuals continue to build the skills, relationships, and support systems necessary for sustainable, lifelong recovery.
